The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 2.2 and 3.0 - Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 2.x and 3.0 - Microsoft Excel for OS/2, version 2.2, 2.21, and 3.0

Summary:

In Microsoft Excel, if you use a data series to create a row or column of weekdays and the first or last date indicated falls on a weekend, the series will be missing a date.

If the first date falls on a weekend, the date of the Monday following the weekend is omitted from the series. If the stop value given falls on a weekend, the date of the Friday preceding the stop value is omitted from the series.

This feature is by design. If you select Weekday, Excel displays dates that are only on a Monday through Friday. To display weekend dates also, select Day rather than Weekday.
