File: Copying Images to and from Draw or Paint Programs

Summary:

To copy a graphic from a drawing or painting program like MacDraw, MacDraw II, Aldus Freehand, Adobe Illustrator, MacPaint, PixelPaint, SuperPaint, Canvas, or other like program into Microsoft File version 2.00, do the following:

  1. Select the object in the draw or paint program.
  2. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.

    Note: If copying from Adobe Illustrator, Aldus Freehand, or other packages that support embedded PostScript comments through the Clipboard, hold the OPTION key down while performing Step #2.

  3. Open Microsoft File, and choose Paste from the Edit menu.

    Note: Color images in MacDraw II, SuperPaint, or any other program which copies a PICT (not PICT II) image to the Clipboard, come through the Clipboard in black and white.

To copy a graphic from File version 2.00 to a draw or paint program, do the following:

  1. With the mouse, select the image in File.
  2. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.
  3. Open the draw or paint program, and choose Paste from the Edit menu.
