Works 2.00: NEC ProSpeed 386 and Incorrect Screen Display

PSS ID Number: Q51879 Article last modified on 06-12-1996

MS-DOS

SUMMARY

The NEC ProSpeed 386 laptop provides VGA-compatible video support, and is recognized as providing this support by Works Version 2.00. However, use of a VGA screen driver is correct only when using an external monitor. The internal ProSpeed 386 display is capable of displaying only EGA resolution. When Works is set up, EGA must be explicitly selected as the video type.

If the Works 2.00 VGA screen driver is used in conjunction with the internal EGA display when running Works in graphics mode, the Works program screen will appear to have been pushed below the bottom of the display.
