SUMMARY
The macro MESSAGE instruction allows for messages of up to 80 characters to be displayed at the bottom of the screen during a macro’s execution. This message appears regardless of whether the Word menu is turned on or off.
Page 462 of the “Using Microsoft Word” Version 5.0 manual incorrectly states that macro messages are not displayed if the Word menu display is turned off.
Note: This error was corrected in later editions of the Word manual.
