SUMMARY

Apple's ResEdit Version 1.1B3 that is supplied with Microsoft QuickBASIC 1.00 for the Apple Macintosh does not allow you to change some installed system fonts. Which fonts you can change depends on the machine on which ResEdit is being used. This is a problem with ResEdit tool itself.

This information applies only if you wish to change the appearance of letters in a font.

MORE INFORMATION

Version 1.1B3 is not the most current version of ResEdit. Apple ResEdit Version 1.20 (the latest as of November 1989) does not correct the problem with editing certain fonts. However, future versions of ResEdit may correct this problem.

ResEdit is not a Microsoft product but is a product of Apple Computer Corporation. To order an update for ResEdit, contact Apple Computer at (800) 282-2732.

This problem with editing certain fonts occurs on all versions of System and Finder up to releases of System 6.0.3 and Finder 6.1 (which are the latest as of November 1989).

The following is a list of fonts that cannot be changed under ResEdit, and the machines that the problem occurs on:
