Works 2.00: Controlling Printer Bin Feed Access

SUMMARY
Multiple bin access is not directly supported in Works 2.00, as there is no bin selection option on the Printer Setup menu. However, bin access can be controlled by embedding bin access codes in documents or spreadsheets.
To embed bin access codes in the Word Processor, complete the following steps. The Hewlett-Packard LaserJet IID is used as an example.
At the top of each page where a change in bin access is to occur, insert a single character, such as the letter “z” on a separate line at the top of the page.
Choose the Select Replace command and replace the character (z in our example) with ^27. A left arrow will now appear in place of the letter z at the top of each page. This represents the escape character.
Immediately following the escape character, enter the bin access code for the printer.
For example, to instruct the LaserJet IID to select paper from its upper bin, type “&l1H” (without the quotation marks) immediately following the left arrow at the top of the page where access from the upper tray is to begin.
Mixed feed can be obtained by embedding the code that instructs the IID to select paper from its lower tray at the top of a subsequent page. Using the same steps as in the paragraph above, embed the code “&l4H” (without the quotation marks) following the left arrow at the top of the appropriate page.
To embed bin access codes in the Spreadsheet, use the same process listed above, except that the escape character will need to be generated in the Word Processor, and copied to the first cell in your spreadsheet.
Note: Bin access codes and other printer codes are unique to particular printer models and are usually found in the user manual that accompanies the printer.
