The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 4.0

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word version 4.00, the error message “Picture is Too Large to Edit” indicates that the selected graphic has been pasted in the document using the Paste Link command (on the Edit menu) and has been expanded too much in Word after it was pasted.

If the graphics program is MacPaint version 1.0, the error message means that the graphic is too large to fit in the MacPaint 1.0 screen. If the graphics program is MacDraw, the error means the graphic is too large for MacDraw to process. To alleviate this problem, reduce the size of the graphic in Word and then switch to the graphics program.

MORE INFORMATION

For a complete list of possible error messages that can occur while using the Link commands, see pages 412-414 in the “Reference to Microsoft Word” version 4.0 manual.
