Works: Sliding Fields to Left in Database Form View

SUMMARY
In the Works Database, if field contents in a form do not fill up a field, blank space is left before or after the text or numbers, depending on the cell’s alignment. If you do not want these blank spaces to print, delete them by turning on the Slide To Left check box. Now, when you print your database form, the field contents print without the extra spaces.
Use the following procedure to slide a field or label to the left:
Select the field or label to slide to the left.
If you select a field, you can choose the Format Show Field Name (ALT T N) command to also hide the field name.
Choose Format Style (ALT T S).
Turn on the Slide To Left check box.
Choose OK (ENTER).
Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for each field of label you want to slide to the left.
Note: This procedure will display the contents of the two fields more closely than their widths would allow normally. It will not, however, physically move the fields closer together.
For example, formatting the STATE field below for Slide to Left would have different effects in these situations:

By widening the ‘City’ field by 2 spaces, the situation becomes:
(‘City’ field width=15) City:Anchorage______ State: AK_ Anchorage AK 2 spaces=>^^ 2 spaces=>^^
