Summary:

A problem arises in Excel when you attempt to delete files that are located in subdirectories whose path and name are very long (approximately 20 characters or more.) When you choose Delete from the File menu, you cannot see the entire name and path in the Directory Is field.

In the File Open dialog box, an ellipsis (…) appears between the first and last subdirectory names indicating that the entire path is too long to display.
