Summary:

The following contains partial contents of the README.WPS file located on the 5.25" Setup disk for Works Version 2.00:

More Information:

Using Two 5.25-Inch Floppy Drives

If you have two 5.25-inch 360K floppy disk drives and no hard disk because there is no room for DOS on your working copy, you will have to insert your DOS disk in Drive A to start your computer, then replace the DOS disk with your working copy to start Works. Unless Works asks you to switch disks, you should keep the working copy in Drive A and save your data files to a data disk in Drive B.

To save a new file for the first time, do the following:

  1. Choose File Save.
  2. If Drive B is not already the current drive, select Drive B in the Directories list box and press ENTER.
  3. In the Save File As box, type a name for your file.
  4. Choose OK (ENTER).

To open a file, do the following:

  1. Choose File Open.
  2. If Drive B is not already the current drive, select Drive B in the Directories list box and press ENTER.
  3. In the Files box, select the file you want to open.
  4. Choose OK (ENTER).

As you use Works, you might create more data files than will fit on a single data disk. You can work with as many as eight different data files from different data disks at the same time.

To open a file from a different disk, do the following:

  1. Choose File Open.
  2. Insert in Drive B the data disk containing the file you want to open.
  3. Press ENTER.
  4. In the Files box, select the file from the updated list.
  5. Choose OK (ENTER).
  6. Switch disks as requested.
