Importing Corel Draw Files into Word 5.00

SUMMARY

The error message “Word is unable to process information in file” occurs when previewing or printing a TIFF file exported from Corel Draw into Word Version 5.00. Word does not currently recognize the Corel TIFF file format. Corel Draw also produces PCX, HPGL and EPS file formats that can be used with Library Link.

The following is the procedure to export a PCX or EPS file from Corel Draw:

  1. Load or create the file with Corel Draw.
  2. From the Corel Draw main menu, choose File (ALT+F).
  3. Select Export (press E).
  4. Select the file format (PCX or EPS).
  5. Type in the filename and press ENTER.

The following is the procedure to export a HPGL file from Corel Draw running under Microsoft Windows:

  1. Use the Windows CONTROL.EXE program to select the desired plotter and port. For more information, refer to the Windows user’s guide.
  2. From the Corel Draw main menu, choose File (ALT+F).
  3. Select Print (press P).
  4. Choose Print To File from the Print menu.
  5. Choose a filename to print to. (This file will contain the file in HPGL format.)
