Summary:

Older versions of the Ungermann-Bass Net/One networking software (UBNET) do not support the “backward seek” file-access feature. Excel requires this feature for proper file-save operation.

When using an older version of UBNET that does not support the backward seek feature, Excel files saved to network drives will be corrupted.

The solution is to upgrade to the latest version of UBNET. Ungermann-Bass can be reached at (408) 496-0111.

Note that Ungermann-Bass may not be aware of the backward seek problem specifically. Nevertheless, an update to the latest network software version will solve the problem.
