Works 2.00: Using Template Files on a Network

PSS ID Number: Q50501 Article last modified on 06-12-1996

MS-DOS

SUMMARY

Template files are files of the form TEMPLATE.PS, TEMPLATE.KS, TEMPLATE.DB, and TEMPLATE.CM. If these files reside in the user directory, and if the Works Settings dialog box option “Use Template for:” is checked for the type of file you are opening, then Works opens the appropriate TEMPLATE.* file that matches that file type.

For instance, if you are opening a new database file and “Use Template for:” is checked for Database, Works loads the file named TEMPLATE.DB.

With the network version, Works looks for the template file by that name that resides in the user directory, instead of the program directory, which is where it would look if you were running Works as a stand-alone application.
