SUMMARY
In Microsoft Word versions 5.0 and 5.5, the HPGL graphics file format is not automatically detected. HPGL must be manually entered in the “file format:” field in Library Link Graphics in version 5.00, or in the “Format:” field in the Insert Picture dialog box in version 5.50. Word cannot detect HPGL because plot files files don’t have a special heading that indicates HPGL. HPGL files can start with different plotting codes, depending on the formatting applied to the graphic.
