SUMMARY

In Microsoft Works Versions 1.00 and 1.05 Database form screens, underscore characters are used to show how many characters each field contains. These have been removed from Works Version 2.00.

Because Works 2.00 allows you to set character styles (bold, italic, underline) on the form screen, using underscore characters would be distracting.

If you want to have an on-screen indication of how long a field is, use Works in its graphics mode. The field length is shown with dotted underlines.
