Summary:

If a new document is opened and Format Paragraph is used to set the Border option to Box before typing any text, you cannot position the insertion point outside of the resulting boxed paragraph. This problem occurs when the box is the only text in the document and the end-of-file marker immediately follows the paragraph.

To solve this problem, do one of the following:

  1. Choose Format Paragraph and change the Border option back to None. This allows you to start a new paragraph after the first paragraph, and then the first paragraph can be reformatted to have a border.
  2. Add an additional paragraph mark by pressing ENTER at the end of the boxed paragraph. Choose View Preferences and select Paragraph Marks. Highlight the second paragraph mark and use Format Paragraph to set the Border option to None for the second paragraph.
