SUMMARY
You can use tables to print labels horizontally rather than vertically in Microsoft Word versions 4.0 and 5.0 by doing the following:
- In the main document, set up the labels within the cells of a table, with each cell containing a label definition.
- The number of columns of labels desired should be controlled by the number of columns in the table. Set the section to 1 column.
- Choose Print Merge, and the table will be filled left to right rather than top to bottom.
MORE INFORMATION
For example, to set up 1-inch labels in three columns (27 labels per page), do the following:
- From the Format menu, choose Section.
- In the Columns box, set Number to 1, and click the OK button.
- Create a table that has three columns and nine rows.
- Enter a label definition into each cell.
- Highlight the table.
- From the Format menu, choose Cells.
- Set Minimum Row Height to -1 inch (or -72 points). Click OK.
- From the File menu, choose Print Merge.
