Excel: Alignment Instructions Ignored in Header and Footer

Last reviewed: November 2, 1994
Article ID: Q49269

SUMMARY

When specifying formatting for a header and/or footer in the Page Setup dialog box, alignment instructions must appear before the corresponding font, font size, and formatting instructions.

For example, if a header is defined as follows, the document name will be left aligned, but will not be printed in the Times font:

   &"Times"&l&f

To print this header in Times AND have it left aligned, enter the following command sequence:

   &l&"Times"&f

Note: This information is also valid for Windows Excel versions 2.0 through 3.0, and Excel for OS/2 versions 2.20, 2.21, and 3.0.
