This information applies to:
- Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, versions 1.x, 2.0 and 3.0

Summary:

DialCom is a news and USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) communications service. Users of the Microsoft Works Communications module cannot use the normal control character sequences listed on page 342 of the “Using Microsoft Works” version 2.0 manual (on page 293 in the “Using Microsoft Works” version 1.0 manual) with DialCom.

The following should be used as substitutes:

Break CTRL+P Delete Standard BACKSPACE or DELETE key on main keyboard Escape CTRL+Q

Other useful DialCom commands include the following:

Stop CTRL+S (Freezes the screen and stops scrolling) Restart CTRL+Q (Restarts the screen and reenables scrolling)

DialCom recommends that VT100 be used as the terminal type.
