Word: Cannot Insert Time Glossary Entries in Version 4.0

PSS ID Number: Q48558 Article last modified on 03-07-1997

SUMMARY

The keyboard shortcut for inserting glossary entries is as follows:

  1. While holding down the COMMAND key, press the BACKSPACE key. (“Name” should now be displayed in the lower-left corner of the window.)
  2. Type the name of the glossary entry to be inserted.
  3. Press the RETURN key on the main keyboard or the ENTER key on the numeric keypad.

In Microsoft Word for the Macintosh version 4.0, this shortcut does not work for two of Word’s standard glossary entries: “time - now” and “time - print”. This problem has been corrected in Word version 5.0.
