SUMMARY

When using Print Merge in Microsoft Word, two data documents may be merged with one main document. To accomplish this, the data statement in the main document should read <> where Test1 is a document that contains only the header information. Any records below the header line in the Test1 document are not merged. The document Test2 contains all of the records that will be merged with the main document.

Merging documents in this way is useful if there are many data documents, and the main document is being altered slightly for each set of data.

For example, if a form letter is sent out to a number of people in different states and the information varies slightly for each state, then only the name of the second data document must be changed along with the varying information.
