Excel 2.20: Changing Color of Shading and Borders

Last reviewed: October 31, 1994
Article ID: Q48481

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel version 2.20, you can shade cells by choosing Border from the Format menu and selecting the Shade option. The shaded cell takes on the color specified for the gridlines and headings in the document.

To change the color of shaded cells in Excel 2.20, choose Display from the Options menu. Under Gridline & Heading Color, select the desired color. Gridlines, headings, and all types of borders then take on this color.

There is no way to change the color of shaded cells independently from the color of the gridlines and headings in Excel 2.20.
