Word 5.00: Printing Backspace Character on Toshiba P351

PSS ID Number: Q48210 Article last modified on 11-02-1994

MS-DOS

SUMMARY

When you try to print overtyped characters by using the nondestructive backspace (ALT+8) on a Toshiba P351, Word Version 5.00 ignores the backspace and adds a blank space unless the backspace is formatted the same as the text following it.

For example, if you have a subscripted character, followed by a nondestructive backspace, followed by a superscripted character, the superscripted character will not print over the subscripted character unless the nondestructive backspace (ALT+8) is formatted for superscript as well.
