Negative Right Indent Displays Incorrectly on the Ruler

SUMMARY

When setting the “right indent:” field of the Format Paragraph command (Word 5.0) or the Format Paragraph Indents From Right text box (Word 5.5) to a negative value, Word incorrectly displays the position of the right indent on the ruler. The right bracket on the ruler will move all the way over to the zero mark.

However, the negative right paragraph indent will be correct and any text typed in this paragraph will wrap at the correct position.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word versions 5.0 and 5.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
