SUMMARY

If text is selected using Column Select (SHIFT+F6) and then inserted in a blank area somewhere else in the document using the insert command or INS key, hard carriage returns will be added at the end of every line of the selected text (whether they were there before or not).

If the text is inserted into an already existing paragraph, carriage returns will not be added at the end of every line; the text will simply be inserted into the paragraph.

If you want to move whole paragraphs, use the normal selection mode (e.g. press F6, then extend the highlight over the paragraph). Use the DEL key to copy the paragraph to scrap, and the INS key to insert it from scrap into the new location. The Insert and Delete commands in the main menu allow the you to do the same thing.
