SUMMARY
When running Microsoft Word for DOS version 5.0 under Microsoft Windows/386, Word does not run correctly in graphics mode if you configure it to use the IBM 8514/A graphics card. Screen corruption, loss, or change of the Windows screen color can occur if you toggle out of Word.
The following display modes in Word can be used under Windows/386:
Configured to recognize the IBM 8514/A:
text mode: 25 and 50 lines x 80 characters, 16 colors
Configured to recognize a VGA:
text mode: 25, 43, and 50 lines, 2 colors graphics mode: 25, 30, 34, 43, and 60 lines x 80 characters, 2 colors
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word for DOS version 5.0. This problem has been corrected in Microsoft Word for DOS version 5.5. KBCategory: kbother KBSubcategory:
