SYMPTOMS

You may receive the following error message if a Works formula has too many functions nested within it, has too many references to other cells, or is too long:

Formula too long or complex

RESOLUTION

Decrease the size or complexity of the formula. The formula is limited to 255 characters.

Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a

Even though Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a for Windows 95 allow 2047 characters per cell, the formula can only contain 255 characters
