Cannot rename file

The following are possible reasons for the error message and suggested workarounds:

  1. You tried to rename a file, but the file is on a write-protected disk or is in use on a network.

    Remove the write-protection or seal, or wait until the file is no longer in use on the network.

  2. You tried to rename a file using the File File Management command, but the file is open in Works.

    Close the file, and then choose File File Management (ALT+F+F) again.

  3. You tried to rename a file using the File File Management command, but an existing file has that filename.

    Type another filename, and then choose File File Management (ALT+F+F) again.

  4. You tried to rename a file to another drive.

    Choose File File Management (ALT+F+F) again, and type another filename.
