Excel: Printing Documents in Color/Gray Scale to LaserWriter

Last reviewed: November 2, 1994
Article ID: Q46506

SUMMARY

With Microsoft Excel, you can print in color (or gray scale) to a printer that supports color (or gray scale) by checking the Print Using Color option in the Print dialog box, provided the driver supports the use of color (or gray scale).

The Apple LaserWriter driver version 6.0 or later supports color/gray scale printing. To print an Excel document in color or gray scale, select the Print Using Color option in the Print dialog. If you are printing to a color PostScript printer (such as the QMS ColorScript printer), the document will print in color. If you are printing to an Apple LaserWriter, the document will print in gray scales converted from colors by the printer driver.

Printing in color is not dependent on the support of color by the Macintosh; Macintoshes without color support can also print in color. Excel on all Macintoshes has options to choose different colors for items in the document.
