SUMMARY

Page 162 of the “Using Microsoft Works” manual incorrectly states the procedure used to enter a number as a text field in the Database. Typing =" will return the the error message “Invalid Numeric Entry.”

Formatting the field as “General” will permit the entry of numbers as text.

It is not necessary to type =" in the entry bar to enter a number as text. To enter a number as text, choose Set Field Attributes from the Format menu and select Text.
