PostScript Instructions Being Ignored in Header

Last reviewed: July 30, 1997
Article ID: Q45974

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 3.0 , 3.01, 3.02, 4.0

In Word versions 3.0x and 4.0, PostScript instructions in the header are ignored if those instructions are preceded by hidden text that is not formatted in the PostScript style.

This problem can be corrected by inserting at least one non-hidden character (for example, a space) anywhere before the PostScript instructions in the header.

If the header contains PostScript instructions and hidden comments are desired, enter them within the PostScript code. Each comment should appear on a separate line and must be preceded by a percent (%) symbol. For an example, it may be helpful to look at an existing PostScript file with comments.
