SUMMARY

Document formats applied through the File menu in the Page Setup dialog box apply to the entire Word document. Therefore, you cannot create a document that contains pages in both wide (landscape) and tall (portrait) orientation. However, you can simulate this effect, as follows:

  1. Cut the page(s) that you want to have printed in wide orientation and paste the selected pages into a new document.
  2. Change the orientation of the new document to wide.
  3. Link the two documents together into a file series.

If the pages to be printed in a different orientation are in the middle of the file, this process will require splitting the file into three documents that can then be linked and printed together.

For detailed information about creating a file series, consult your manualas follows:

Word 5.0 and 5.1, “Microsoft Word User’s Guide,” pages 225-226. Word 4, “Microsoft Word User’s Guide,” pages 168-170. Word 3, “Reference to Microsoft Word,” pages 183-186.
