Summary: You must REBUILD ISAM files created in COBOL 3.0 when converting to COBOL 3.0a. To REBUILD the file, use the REBUILD.EXE utility on the COBOL 3.0a ISAM Rebuild disk and the following syntax: REBUILD oldfile.dat,newfile.dat /i This REBUILDs the ISAM file “oldfile” and places it in “newfile.” When converting from any version of COBOL to another, you must REBUILD all the related ISAM files with the new version of the REBUILD utility.
