SUMMARY
To manually set up Word version 5.00 on a Toshiba T1000 laptop, you must run the following DOS Copy commands:

The MAKEVID utility must be used to create the screen driver, SCREEN.VID, in order for the graphics mode to function. Use the CGA selections to create this screen driver. It is not recommended that you run Word 5.00 on a single disk drive system; the results can be unpredictable.

The Toshiba T1000 laptop is a single floppy drive computer. When you use the DOS Copy command to copy files to drive B, you will be prompted to insert a disk into drive B. When this message occurs, you should remove the disk from drive A and insert the appropriate disk. DOS allows drive A to be recognized as both the physical drive A and the logical drive B. After the file is copied to drive B, you may be prompted to reinsert the original disk into drive A.
