SUMMARY
The IBM PS/2 Models 25 and 30 may come installed with only 512K of memory on the motherboard. This may not provide sufficient memory for running Microsoft Paintbrush in the PS/2 640 x 480 VGA resolution. Paintbrush in a VGA resolution may need as much as 480K for successful operation.
Memory problems are particularly apt to occur when DOS Version 4.00 is used on the system. DOS 4.00, Paintbrush, and the mouse driver together require approximately 560K to operate successfully.
A workaround for this problem is to remove unneeded memory-resident programs and to select either an EGA or a CGA display adapter in PBSETUP to reduce the memory requirements for running Paintbrush.
