Characters Disappear After Column 254 in Word 4.00

PSS ID Number: Q44915 Article last modified on 11-02-1994

4.00

MS-DOS

SUMMARY

In Word 4.00, the maximum number of characters that show on a line is 254. If more characters are typed, they do not show on the screen but they are on the line. By moving the cursor to the right you will notice that the cursor disappears near the end of the line. This is because the cursor is now on the characters that are hidden.

To see the characters at the end of the line, visible characters on the same line must be temporarily deleted to make space for the hidden characters.

This problem has been resolved in Word Version 5.00.
