SUMMARY
The 104K Word Finder thesaurus that comes on the Microsoft Word version 4.00 Utilities 2 disk is noticeably smaller than the 322K “Large Thesaurus” file that came with Word versions 3.0x. No words have been deleted from the thesaurus; a new compression technique was used so the file would take up less space.
To use the new compressed thesaurus, the Word Finder desk accessory (DA) needs to be updated. The older version of the DA is not compatible with the new thesaurus because it does not contain the necessary decompression code.
