The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for MS-DOS versions 4.0, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0

SUMMARY

Word version 5.5, 6.0

Word prompts for the glossary name and key before the macro is recorded. If a reserved glossary name such as “page” is entered for the macro name, the following error will result:

This is a reserved glossary name

Because the macro is not recorded until a valid name is entered, the situation below does not occur in Word versions 5.5, 6.0.

Word versions 4.0 and 5.0

After recording a macro, Word prompts for a name to assign to the recorded macro. The “Copy:” prompt will copy the recorded macro to the glossary entry name typed after the Copy: prompt.

If a reserved glossary name such as “page” or “date” is entered, Word returns the following error:

Reserved Glossary Name

Word does not prompt with a second Copy: prompt. The macro is not saved and will have to be recorded again.
