Footnote Text on Different Page from Footnote Reference

PSS ID Number: Q43948 Article last modified on 06-18-1998

====================================================================== 4.00 MACINTOSH

SUMMARY

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 4.0

In Microsoft Word version 4.00, footnote text can appear on the page after or before the page where the footnote reference appears. This situation occurs only in situations in which a wide and/or tall object (paragraph) is positioned in such a way that it conflicts with the footnotes.

Depending on the situation, you might be able to adjust the size of the positioned object, change the location of the positioned object, or place the object in the footer to work around this problem.
