Summary:
In Microsoft Word, when you are creating a series of two or more consecutive boxed paragraphs when either indent is different between the two paragraphs, the lines between the indented paragraph and the one above/below it line up just slightly apart. This gives the appearance of a shadowed border between the two boxes.
To have the paragraphs separately boxed, apply a small amount of spacing before and after the paragraphs, by using the Spacing Before/Spacing After feature in the Paragraph dialog box on the Format menu. This procedure will give the paragraphs a uniform appearance.
