Creating Index Entries Without Page Numbers

SUMMARY
When creating an index, to have an index heading without a page number following it, use the “.i.” format and place two colons (::) after the heading (the colons can be formatted as hidden text so that they are not seen).
The following is an example:
.i. Boat::
The procedure above will give the heading “Boat” without a page number following it.
To have a subheading after the main entry, place a single colon between the heading and the subheading (with the colon formatted as hidden text), as shown in the following example:
.i. Boat:Sailboat
The procedure above will return the heading “Boat” (without a page number) and a subheading under it of “Sailboat” (with a page number).
