The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, versions 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0

SUMMARY

When you are entering a date in a Microsoft Works spreadsheet, if the column is not wide enough to display the entire date, Works truncates the characters that do not fit in the cell. The date is also truncated when it is viewed in Print Preview or printed.

A workaround for this would be to enter the date as a text string. For example, type the following, including the quotation mark:

"January 1, 1994

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works version 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
