SUMMARY

In Word version 4.00 and 5.00 when doing a print merge, if the last field of the last record in the data document begins with a quotation mark and ends with only the end-of-file marker (no paragraph mark, no closing quotation mark), the last character of this field is omitted when the file is sent to a printer or to a file.

Entering a quotation mark at the end of the field and ending the record with a carriage return allows the last character of the field to be correctly included in the print merge.
