- Microsoft Project for Windows, versions 1.0, 3.0

SUMMARY

There is no direct way to set form or dialog color outside of the choices available in the Options Preferences menu.

MORE INFORMATION

You can set the form and dialog colors indirectly by doing the following:

  1. Change the screen color of some part of the Windows screen through the Control Panel (CONTROL.EXE, Preferences, Screen Colors), such as the Active Title Bar.
  2. Open the Windows WIN.INI file and scroll to the [Colors] section.
  3. Find the ActiveTitle entry and the three numbers that follow the entry. These numbers represent the Hue, Brightness, and Color settings that you chose. Select these numbers and then copy them (Edit Copy).
  4. Edit the WINPROJ.INI file. Find the Form Color or Dialog Color parameters. Select those numbers and delete them.
  5. Paste the numbers you copied from the [Colors] section into the area you just deleted.
  6. Replace the spaces that separate the three numbers with commas (in the US version). For example, a bright red is 255,0,0. If these numbers are not separated with commas, Project for Windows returns to the previous default values.
