SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for MS-DOS, a bookmark designation will be lost if Format Footnote is used twice on the same footnote reference mark.

To duplicate this problem, do the following:

  1. Choose Format Footnote, then press ENTER.
  2. Type in some footnote text in the footnote text area and specify a portion of this text to be a bookmark.
  3. Choose Jump Footnote to return to the footnote reference mark.
  4. Choose Format Footnote again on the same footnote reference mark.

Nothing happens to the document, but the bookmark designated in the footnote text area is lost.
