MPlan: Format Lost on Cells Linked to Another Spreadsheet PSS ID Number: Q43339 Article last modified on 03-28-1990 PSS database name: D_MPlan

4.01

MS-DOS

Summary:

Cell formatting is lost for cells that are linked to another worksheet. To duplicate this problem, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a Multiplan spreadsheet and enter the number 1 in R1C1. Save the spreadsheet with the name SUPPORT.
  2. In a new Multiplan Worksheet, in R1C1, use the External Copy command to copy the contents of R1C1 from the spreadsheet SUPPORT. Make sure that the “linked:” field is set to Yes.
  3. With Format Cell, format R1C1 for left justified and save this worksheet under the name DEPEND.
  4. Load DEPEND and notice that R1C1 will contain default formatting.

This problem was fixed in Multiplan Version 4.01a and 4.20. Version 4.01a is avaiable through Microsoft Product Support Services.
Version 4.20 is available for an upgrade fee through Microsoft Customer Service.
