SUMMARY

It is often ambiguous which extended characters a printer will print. To determine exactly which characters a printer will print with Word, run the CHARACTER_TEST.MAC macro, which prints a list of the available characters. CHARACTER_TEST.MAC is supplied in MACRO.GLY and uses the file CHARTEST.DOC.

In Word version 5.50, the compressed files MACRO.GL$ and CHARTEST.DO$ are on Program Disk 3 and are installed with the program. Compressed files cannot be used without decompressing by using Setup and reinstalling the program or by using the manual decompression routine described on page 67 of Microsoft Word 5.50 “Getting Started” manual.

Word version 5.00 also has MACRO.GLY and CHARTEST.DOC on Utility Disk 2. These files are installed with the program by using Setup or copying the files to the Word directory or document disk.
