DOS 4.00 MEM Command Causes Problems Printing PSS ID Number: Q42428 Article last modified on 03-11-1992 PSS database name: H_Mouse

2.00

MS-DOS

Summary:

In DOS Version 4.00 there is a command MEM that is much the same as CHKDSK, except MEM reads extended memory. It also provides a memory map showing which TSR’s are using what memory. MEM appears to interfere with Paintbrush when you try to print.

In one instance, it was reported that when the MEM command is the last function in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, Paintbrush loads and functions correctly but will not print. Once the command is removed, it prints normally.
