Excel 2.20: Can Delete Built-In Menu Commands

Last reviewed: October 31, 1994
Article ID: Q42070

SUMMARY

Page 211 of the "Microsoft Excel Functions and Macros" guide incorrectly states that Excel's built-in menu commands cannot be deleted. This is a documentation error.

Using Microsoft Excel version 2.20, the built-in menu commands can be deleted. However, we urge caution in deleting these built-in options, as they cannot be added once they are deleted.

The only way to replace built-in commands once they are deleted is to write a macro that re-creates the command function, or to quit and then restart Excel.
