SUMMARY
To place tab leaders in the cells of a table in Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, do the following:
- Place the insertion point inside the cell that a tab leader is to be placed in, and choose Paragraph from the Format menu.
- In the dialog box, choose the Tabs button.
- In the Tabs dialog box, select the type of tab leader and the type of tab. To enter the position of the tab, either type a measurement or click the ruler at the appropriate place. If the tab has already been inserted, click the arrow it represents on the ruler to insert the measurement in the Position box.
- Choose the Set button to set the tab, and choose the OK button to exit the box.
- At the Paragraph dialog box, choose the OK button to close the box.
- In the cell, press OPTION+TAB to insert a tab character. The tab leader will now appear in the space before the tab marker.
Note: You can skip steps 1 and 2 by double-clicking the point on the ruler where the leader is to be set. This will display the Tabs dialog box.
